Thank you Redeemer!!!

As I come to the end of the year when we launched Redeemer I look back and am so grateful for all that has happened….

On Sundays - the launch, 1st Mothers Day, 1st Easter Celebration, 1st Fathers Day & 1st Carol Service!
It has been great to have Howard Kellett, Sean Green, Angela Kemm & Terry Virgo come and preach.
We have developed community in our groups, over meals together and celebrated weddings, births & baptisms.
It has been brilliant to hold our 1st Alpha in Costa and to have been working with others to see the Ealing Food bank established.
I could go on and on…..

I am so aware that we could not have done this without the commitment, dedication, sacrifice and hard work of a brilliant bunch! I love being involved in this church!

I believe this is just the start an can't wait to see all that God will do in and through us in 2014!

Feeling Loved

I know that many people are aware of and have found helpful the 5 Love Language described by Gary Chapman.

I would never have considered gifts as high on my priority list.

Yet last night I was given a book by Edward Woods (it wasn't wrapped but that didn't matter).

I can't wait to get started on 'The Manager' and hope to
pick up lots of useful lessons.

What will make you feel loved this Christmas?

How will you make others feel loved?

Keep on Running

Tomorrow a friend from Ealing Eagles is running his 22nd Marathon of the year! (Yes he is aiming to complete at least 100 marathons)

2 weeks ago we ran together on a Monday night. He had run a marathon in Singapore the day before, flown home through the night and then gone to work all day before coming out running in the evening.

Despite being in his fifties he is not going slow. Last Saturday he achieved his personal best park run time and on Monday we completed the 4.5mile loop in just over 29 minutes!!

I find Piers commitment inspiring.

If people are willing to make such a great commitment - monstrous physical effort, financial cost and family sacrifice to obtain another T-shirt (yes he does have approx. 77 collected so far)  - then how much more should I be willing to do for Jesus?

More inspiring is the length that Jesus went for me - I want to give my all for Him!

Keep on running hard for Jesus in 2014:)

Name in Lights

Many people aspire to get their work recognised and appreciated - to have their name in lights!

Whilst back in Uckfield last week helping my parents to move house I noticed the following sign:

Says CORNFORDS YARD!

I know it isn't celebrating anything I have done….. but I must have someone in my family somewhere who has done good!

As a church planter it is easy to want to inform everyone about the exciting start to Redeemer - but I really want people to discover 'Jesus as their Redeemer'.

Carols by Candle Light

I was absolutely delighted with Carols by Candle Light evening last night!
Folk from Redeemer Church playing trumpet, flute & saxophone sounded great, singers were awesome, Ealing Town Hall looked and sounded fabulous…..

I know that a picture is worth a thousand words (Thanks again to Lynda Bowyer):

Have your cake & eat it!

For those who know me well - you will appreciate I have done well to last 8 days!

I waited to start my Christmas cake until Sunday 8th December this year….. and it tastes great.

Family traditions help build memories and ours has been to enjoy the cake in the lead up to Christmas. Great to sit down together with a cuppa and cake and catch up with everyone at home.
Looking forward to the next slice already:)

What are your family traditions at this time of year?

How are you building memories into your kids?

We're not singing anymore:)

With such limited parking at our Kids Secondary School I have always attended functions by bus!

However recently I decided to make an exception: Nicky & I were helping out at the PTFA games night and as both of us were going early - I thought I would save on the bus fare by taking the car. Mistake no1.

My son wanted a drink and as I only had a £10 note on me sent him to the car to look for some loose change. Mistake no 2.

It appears that he forgot to look the car. Mistake no 3.

Someone was obviously watching my son because there was no sign that anyone attempted to break into the car, but all the loose change we kept for parking machines was taken, and our CD wallet from the glove compartment has also disappeared.

I miss the 15 or so CD's more than the cash - and it means that I no longer have any music to sing along to in the car.

Most of the CD's stolen were Christian music, so my hope is that the thief has listened to them and is now singing along.

What stops you singing and why?

London Murder Solved!

Nicky & I turned West London Detectives and solved our 1st Case.

Soon after we left Notting Hill Station we picked up the trail and then managed to discover the evidence, solved the clues and found our killer.

During which time we took in the Portobello Road Market, wandered beside the Canal and dined in style.

I was given the Greater London: Notting Hill Murder Mystery Theme treasure trail last Christmas and my only regret was having not got on with it sooner. A brilliant way to explore the capital and see things that normally I would have wandered by.

Are you normally in such a rush each day that you don't get to slow down and enjoy the journey?
