I recently read about the advance of science that means we could develop the ability to get rid of bad memories. (Known as Tet1)
I appreciate that this could be helpful to those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder but I wonder if the treatment could be abused....
to wipe put the recollection of a mistake we can learn from
sorry forgot to pay my mortgage this month, I must have taken an overdose.
Could this end up with us pressing 'delete' to ditch a memory.
I believe the best way not to remember is to forgive. I am learning to forgive myself. I choose to forgive family & friends that have hurt & upset me. It does not remove the memory but often takes away the pain.
I find strength to forgive others knowing that God has forgiven me.
Who do you need to forgive?
